Educational purpose
The course, tests, articles and tips teach and practise touch typing. They are general guidance, not professional advice of any kind. We work hard to keep them accurate and up to date, but we do not promise that everything is complete, correct or suitable for your situation.
Results vary
Everyone learns at a different pace. Targets such as “40 words per minute in 30 days” describe what the course is designed for and what many learners reach with regular practice. They are not a guarantee. Your progress depends on how often and how carefully you practise, your starting point, your keyboard and many other things.
How speed and accuracy are measured
Speed is shown as net words per minute: correct characters divided by five, per minute. Accuracy is the share of key presses that were correct. Other websites, employers and exam bodies may use different formulas (for example gross speed, keystrokes per hour or error penalties), so results are not always directly comparable.
Job-Ready tests are practice only
The Job-Ready simulators imitate the style of common data entry, clerical and government typing tests to help you prepare. They are not official tests, are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any government department, recruitment board, examination body or employer, and a result here does not guarantee a result in a real test. Always check the official rules and requirements of the test you are taking.
Certificates
Certificates of completion record that the graduation test was passed on this site. They are not an accredited qualification. Whether an employer or institution accepts one is up to them.
Health and comfort
Tips about posture, breaks and hand position are general comfort guidance, not medical advice. Typing for long periods can contribute to strain in the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, neck or eyes. Take regular breaks, adjust your chair, desk and screen, and stop if you feel pain, numbness or tingling. If you have or develop symptoms, speak to a doctor or qualified health professional.
Advertising and affiliate links
The site may show adverts from third parties, labelled as adverts. An advert is not a recommendation, and we are not responsible for advertisers’ products, services or claims. If an article ever contains an affiliate or sponsored link, it will be clearly marked, and it never affects what we teach.
External links
Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
Trademarks
Names of keyboards, operating systems, companies, tests and other products are the trademarks of their owners and are used only to describe them. Their use does not mean any affiliation or endorsement.
Errors and corrections
If you find a mistake in a lesson, article or text, please tell us at support@typingo.net. We correct errors promptly. Our editorial policy explains how lessons are written and checked.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or reliance on, the information and tools on this site. Nothing in this disclaimer limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
