Practice

Practise on your own terms: free practice with only the keys you have learned, a weak-keys session that targets the letters slowing you down, or your own text pasted in. Nothing you paste ever leaves your device.

Three ways to practise

No timers and no pressure. Practise for as long as you like.

  • Keys I’ve learned: words and drills with only the keys your lessons have taught so far.
  • Weak keys: words chosen to exercise the letters that slow you down most.
  • Custom text: paste anything you want to practise. It stays on your device.

Questions people ask

What is the difference between Practice and the Typing Test?

Practice trains at your level, on the keys you have learned or the ones slowing you down, with no time pressure. The Typing Test measures your speed on text you have not seen before.

How long should I practise each day?

About fifteen minutes. Short, daily and accurate beats a long weekly session, because muscle memory is built by repetition spread over days.

Can I practise with my own text?

Yes. Paste anything you like into the "My own text" tab. What you paste stays on your device and is never sent to the server or saved to an account.

What are weak keys?

The letters you get wrong or hesitate on most often. Weak-key practice builds real words around them, so the keys that slow you down get the most attention.
